General Information

Seasons For Growth

Commencing Term 4 after school on Tuesday’s at The Cavanbah Centre, Byron Bay

WHEN:  15 October – 3 December from 4.30pm – 5.30pm

Facilitated by Kate Pearce, a qualified relationship counsellor in the Northern Rivers, Seasons for Growth is an evidence-based education program based on extensive research into how children and young people process grief and loss.

It has been created for children age 6-12 years who have experienced grief and loss in their lives due to significant changes such as

  • Someone they love dies
  • Separation and divorce
  • Relocation
  • Illness
  • Friendship changes
  • Moving schools or house

Using seasons as a metaphor to explore the topics of change and loss, the program fosters the development of effective ways to respond and adapt.

Seasons for Growth aims to strengthen the social and emotional wellbeing of children and young people, give voice to their experiences, understand their feelings, learn problem solving and decision making skills, develop friendships and recognise they aren’t alone.

Group sizes are limited

Further information about the program and the topics covered in the sessions can be found by visiting
