- Rainforest walking trail
- Shade sail covered playground with web netting climbing frame, swings, slide & sand-scooper
- Off-leash dog zone
Bordering the Brunswick River at the north end of town, Heritage Park is a lovely spot to enjoy a picnic and admire the peaceful natural surroundings. The Byron Flora, Fauna & Conservation Society has lovingly created a wonderful riverside amenity with their established Botanie Park where over 200 rainforest species have been planted and labelled. Follow the walking trail through the park to the edge of the river where you will find an open grassy area with a recently refurbished playground complete with a large web-netting and rope climbing frame, swings, sand-scooper and a covered picnic table.
Unfortunately, no public toilets can be found in this location, the nearest ones being at Cenotaph Park, adjacent to the Civic Memorial Hall on Dalley Street or at the other entrance to Heritage Park, adjacent to the tennis courts.
It is also worth noting – for those that like to walk their dogs and for those with children that are fearful around them, that this is an off-leash dog zone although dogs are prohibited from the area in or within ten (10) metres of the children’s play equipment.
