Byron Bay Public School Playgroup operates every Thursday from 9.30am to 11.00am during term time out of the School Hall.
Entrance to the school is via Kingsley St, however easy access to the entrance of the School Hall can be found via the cul-de-sac on Carlyle St. There is a covered terrace to park pushers and strollers and there is a child safety gate entrance directly into the hall.
The hall is half filled with comfy play mats and rugs which are laden with all kinds of children’s toys and games. A low balance beam and short slide are also set up on rubber matting to ensure a gentle landing! There is a play doh table and a themed craft of the day.
Jane, the playgroup facilitator is very welcoming, inviting you to take it easy and bringing you over a freshly brewed cup of tea or coffee to your liking.
Around 10.30am, Jane invites the little ones to join in some fun singing and dancing and then settles down to read them a couple of stories based on the day’s particular theme.
There are no joining fees and you can attend when it suits you. The playgroup charges a gold coin session fee to cover the costs of running the group, craft items, morning tea and/or replacement of toys.
Playgroup is a fun way for you and your child/ren to meet others and provides a variety of play and social experiences for your little ones to enjoy and learn in a safe, relaxed environment.
