The tour goes for approximately one hour and costs $7 per person.
An Australian Seabird Rescue team member will talk to people about the life-saving work they do, display photos of rescues and releases and show how they catch injured birds. Then it’s out to the sea turtle nest display to learn about sea turtles nesting on our beaches in the Summer. Finally it’s over to the sea turtle hospital where your guide will explain about the problems sea turtles face and go through what they do with a turtle when it first comes into care.
The interactive tour is suitable for all age groups and most young children are totally enthralled by the presentation and the chance to be involved in the fun demonstrations. Toddlers are welcome and if they get distracted there is plenty of room for them to run around inside the hall during the presentation.
It’s a fantastic opportunity for kids to learn about the hazards marine life face and a real life insight into seabird and turtle rescue and how we can all be more mindful and proactive in their protection.
